Guide Review - Grilliput

The Grilliput is a camp tool for space conscious travelers. I was impressed with how small it packs away. It actually takes up less space than my grill tools, and it will fit in my glove box. I can see this being used by bicyclists, bikers, campers, hikers, fishermen, hunters, paddlers or any traveler or outdoorsman where space is a concern. Granted it isn't big enough to feed a crowd, but it is plenty big enough to grill for four.

My first time assembling the Grilliput took a few extra minutes to get used to tightening the rods so that the grill is rigid when upright. I found out that the two end rods must be screwed in as much as possible to insure a tight assembly. Once assembled, all I had to do was place it over my heat source. I have a portable fire pit on my patio. The Grilliput is perfect for it. When I was done grilling, I disassembled the Grilliput and placed all the pieces on the top shelf of the dishwasher. After a wash, it was a simple matter of putting the pieces back into the main tube. I used the built-in cleaning groove of the Grilliput to clean the rods before placing in the dishwasher. It likely would have cleaned up just as easily with a dish rag and soapy water. Either way, cleanup is easy.

Next time you have a campfire, scrape some coals to the side and get out your Grilliput. When a regular grill is too much to take along, all you need is a fire and a Grilliput.
